Good-to-Know Basic Facts about Dolphins

Dolphins are one of the most intelligent marine mammals that are found world-wide.  With friendly appearance and playful attitude, Dolphins are popular to human culture.   Dolphin coloration varies but the most common is gray with darker backs than the rest of its body.  Many dolphins jump out of the water and follow ships.  Scientists believe that dolphins conserve energy by swimming side by side a ship.  A female dolphin goes near the surface of the water when it is time to give birth.  Once the calf is born, the mother will take it to the surface for its calf to breathe.
